Research

Mainly based on the gene editing technology mediated by the CRISPR/Cas9 system, the previous study has been conducted on the development of functional research methods for gene mutations, and the molecular breeding of sheep. A series of innovative achievements have been achieved, including: (1) The development of a functional analysis method, CRISPR-Select, for single base mutations validation, which could give an option for precise analysis of single base mutations with multi-parameters; (2) Preparation of multi-gene knockout goats and sheep, as well as single base mutant goats.

Aimed for:

(1) Efficient identification of genetic mutations related to economic traits in livestock.

(2) Molecular breeding of sheep, creating new breeding materials.
